Dr. Rose Atieno Opiyo of Educational Psychology Department, MMUST is the new Kenyan recipient of the 2020-2022, International Society for the Study of Behavioral Development (ISSBD)/ Jacobs Foundation, Professional Development Fellowship award.
This is a 3- year prestigious doctoral programme that attracts wide candidature from various academic disciplines: Nutrition, Linguistics, Anthropology, Psychology, Public Health and Sociology. It is designed to build research capacity of middle-career researchers in developmental science in Africa, putting them in the best position to improve:
- Design intervention and evaluation research that contributes toward improvements of: School readiness among young children; Numeracy/literacy skills among school students; or vocational skills among youth.
- Development, implementation and/or evaluation of policies or interventions by non-government and government organizations;
- Training of the next generation of researchers in development science.
