Speaking during the meeting Prof. Edwin Wamukoya noted that the objective of the meeting was to expand understanding of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to cover the School of Public Health. He said that by this, we can work together in the field of research, staff, and student exchange programs and contribute to the state’s agenda on health. The next meeting is set for Thursday 17 February 2022 where the team from Michigan University will make presentations that will inform synergy areas that will be included in the MoU.

The delegation was led by Michigan University’s Professor of Epidemiology Prof. Joseph N.S. Eisenberg and the Impact Scholar and Doctoral Student Dr. Leon Espira. The team from the ECO2LIBRIUM (ECO2) Sustainable Solutions, a business company that applies business solutions to solve social and environmental problems was led by the Senior Manager Mr. Chris Amutabi, General Manager, STOVES FOR LIFE Mr. John Luseno, and the Monitoring and Research Coordinator Mr. Hardley Malema.
Other members present from the University include the Chair of Department of Public Health, Dr. Wanzala Maximila, Dr. Humphrey Agevi, Dr. Evans Raballah, Dr. Sabella Kiprono, representing the Directorate of International Relations and Academic Linkages (DIAL), Mr. Nelman Monari, and postgraduate students from the faculty of Public Health, Biomedical Sciences and Technology.
