Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology has welcomed its 2025/2026 fresh men and women in an extraordinary digitized admission process, as students, parents and guardians flooded the institution from 28th to 29th August, 2025. The over 6,000 students were served from various points and Schools across the University, with the orientation expected to kick off from Saturday, 30th August, 2025 and later climax with the Vice Chancellor’s Address.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Solomon Shibairo, expressed his delight at the huge number of students who chose to join MMUST to pursue their higher education. “Over the years, our admission process has greatly improved and is now fully digitized. I am happy that the entire process, including this year’s admission has been seamless and where there have been hitches, they have been sufficiently addressed. On behalf of the Council, the University Management Board and Senate, I welcome the 2025/2026 cohort to MMUST-the University of choice,” stated Prof. Shibairo during the admission.

The well-organized admission process was punctuated by interludes of music, led by the Institute of Music, which is housed in the School of Arts and Social Sciences (SASS). Key announcements about admission venues and processes were also made during these interludes, keeping the new clients not only well informed, but also entertained.
“As the Division of Academic and Student Affairs, we assure the new students of our support and commitment towards their success. We are aware that these students have been drawn from various parts of the country to pursue different courses, right from Certificate to PhD levels. Our officers are ready and fully equipped to serve them throughout their academic journey,” said the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and Student Affairs)-Prof. Hussein Golicha.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and Student Affairs)-Prof. Hussein Golicha and the Registrar (Academic Affairs)-Prof. Judah Ndiku brave the rains as they inspect the various points of admission.
Speaking to DCCM crew, the Registrar (Academic Affairs)-Prof. Judah Ndiku, revealed that this year’s cohort is unique because they have already been funded by the Government, and are in possession of the requisite information regarding tuition fees, scholarships and the HELB loan. “I am glad to note that the fee is highly subsidized to as little as Kshs. 7,500 for the lowest paying student. We have received even more students compared to last year and we expect to have more in the coming weeks,” pointed out Prof. Ndiku. Further, he thanked the team from the Office of the Registrar, the Directorate of ICT, the Directorate of Corporate Communications and Marketing (DCCM), Deans and Chairpersons of Departments, MMUST staff as well as the security team for ensuring that the entire process of admission was undertaken with the highest level of professionalism and efficiency.

MMUST Customer Care and Call Center’s Mr. Brian Owino (in blue hoodie) takes clients through the admission procedure.
“The MMUST Customer Care and Call Center, which is manned by the Directorate of Corporate Communications and Marketing, has been a beehive of activity from as far as back as the KUCCPS placement. My team has been assisting clients to carry out inter-university transfers and get acquainted with the requirements of admission. During this period, we have been responding to inquiries and guiding parents and students to check fee balances, prompting them to pay tuition fees and assisting them to download admission letters. So far, we have not encountered any serious complaints and the few challenges experienced have been addressed in real time,” remarked the Marketing Officer, Mr. James Muriithi.
As MMUST continues with this upward trajectory, its aspiration to position itself as a dynamic leader in the higher education sector will certainly be realized. With new and unique programmes in biosafety, biosecurity, computer science and forensics, the University is set to maintain this momentum.
We welcome the MMUST Class of 2025!
