MMUST Hosts 180 Senior School Students for Career Exploration and Campus Experience!
Today 3rd July, 2026, MMUST hosted 150 students from four (4) senior schools across the Western Region for campus tour and career guidance. The students had the opportunity to be assisted by MMUST marketing staff to make informed higher education choices. The visiting Schools included Kimwondo Secondary School (49 students), St. Anne’s Buyangu Girls’ High school (42), Elukari Secondary School (19), and Shikunga Secondary School (40). This comes only a day after another school from Nandi County, Kemeloi Boys High school, visited MMUST and paid a courtesy call to the Office of the Vice Chancellor. The students from Kemeloi Boys were received by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration and Finance), Prof. John Kuria Thuo on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Solomon Shibairo. Therefore, this week alone, MMUST hosted and guided a total of 180 students.

During the visit, the students toured various University facilities, including laboratories, workshops, and library, gaining first-hand exposure to MMUST’s modern learning environment. They also interacted with academic staff and experts from different disciplines, who guided them on career opportunities, academic programmes, and the different skills required in different professions. The students further participated in an interactive session with our Marketing team, where they learnt about our programmes, student support initiatives, and the unique opportunities available to our learners.

The visit provided the students with valuable insights into University life, empowering them to make evidence-based decisions as they prepare to select institutions for their higher education journey.

Beyond showcasing MMUST’s facilities and programmes, the visit speaks to the growing impact of experiential marketing. While the University’s marketing team continues to reach out to prospective students in their schools, it is equally encouraging to see learners visit our campus and experience university life firsthand. Certainly, such visits are evidence of genuine curiosity about higher education, as they provide an authentic opportunity for students to discover on their own why MMUST remains a preferred destination for quality education, research and innovation!
