MMUST VC, Prof. Solomon Shibairo, Joins Top Government Officials for the Launch of the NYOTA Phase II Project

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Solomon Shibairo, has today, 10^th July, 2026 joined top Government Officials for the launch of the second phase of the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) project. The NYOTA Phase two (2) launch was conducted in regional clusters, with MMUST hosting cluster four (4), which encompasses Kakamega, Vihiga, Busia and Bungoma Counties. While the national launch was presided over virtually from Nairobi by the President of the Republic of Kenya, H.E Dr. William Samoei Ruto, the event at MMUST was physically officiated by the Prime Cabinet Secretary, Hon. Wycliffe Musalia Mudavadi.

Key figures present at the Western cluster phase 2 launch included; the Governor of Kakamega County, H.E FCPA Fernandes Barasa; Principal Secretary-State Department for Higher Education and Research, Dr. Beatrice Inyangala; and the Principal Secretary-State Department for Public Service and Human Capital Development, Dr. Jane Imbunya.
