The Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology softball teams have excelled in the just-concluded Kenya Softball Federation National series, hosted at the MMUST grounds from 16th to 17th November, 2024. The MMUST Women's Softball team trounced Multimedia University (MMU) and emerged position two (2), while the men’s team competed up to the quarter finals.
Prior to these games, the MMUST teams participated in the Western Series Softball Games, which took place in Kaimosi Friends University (KAFU) from 9th to 10th November, 2024. Both teams emerged victorious in this prestigious tournament, showcasing skill and teamwork. This success qualified them for the upcoming KUSA Nationals playoffs, which will take place next year, marking a significant achievement for our University.

On Monday, 19th November, 2024, the MMUST Softball Team Patron-Mr. Oscar Waswa, together with the Coach-Brian Kurgat, a fourth-year student, paid a courtesy to the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Planning, Research and Innovation)-Prof. Charles Mutai, who was representing the Vice Chancellor-Prof. Solomon Shibairo. The meeting was aimed at discussing the activities and prospects of the MMUST’s Softball teams. The trophies will officially be presented to the University Management on Wednesday, 20th November, 2024.

These successes not only highlight the talent within the University but also inspire all students to engage in sports and extracurricular activities. So far, for a game that was recently introduced in MMUST, the Softball teams have indeed made significant strides. We are proud of them and look forward to their continued success, as they propel the institution to new heights.
