The event was graced by the Director, Research and Postgraduate Studies Prof. Peter Bukhala who is also a ‘super-saver’ member of the Sacco. Prof. Bukhala expressed confidence in the Sacco stating that with the new Sacco management, greater stability and staff financial prosperity will soon become a reality. “I encourage you to become members of Sacco. Let us adopt a saving culture for our development and retirement,” stated Prof. Bukhala.

Speaking during the drive, Dr. Alilah pointed out that MMUST Wevarsity Sacco is among the best Savings and Credit Co-operative Societies (SACCOS) in Kenya. “I urge more staff to gain membership of the Sacco in order to enjoy the services we provide,” added Dr. Alilah.

These sentiments were echoed by Mr. Nandasaba who highlighted the various strategies that they have put in place to ensure that the Sacco remains steadfast. Some of these strategies include promoting savings packages especially Christmas and Education packages, internationalization of management, restructuring of Sacco staff and functions, training of members, reduced committee sittings and reduced petty cash.

Dr. Edwin Kanda, Mr. Humphrey Airo and Mr. Shem Khaemba who are members of the Sacco were lucky to receive gifts of vouchers and shirts during the recruitment drive. They attested to the efficient services offered by the new team of leaders and expressed hope that the Sacco will improve the livelihoods of a large number of staff.

This is the first time Wevarsity is conducting a recruitment drive of this nature. The exercise will go on until next week Friday, 21st January, 2022.
