Prof. Judah Ndiku has been appointed by the Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology’s Council to the position of Registrar (Academic Affairs) for the next five (5) years. Prof. Ndiku, who has been the Director, Directorate of Curriculum Review and Development (CReD), officially took over the office on Monday, 18th March, 2024 from Mr. Zablon Obengo, the Deputy Registrar-Academic Affairs.
During the handing over ceremony, Prof. Ndiku stated that he is happy to take up this role, saying that he is ready to work with staff, students, the community and other stakeholders to enhance the quality of academic training in MMUST. “I take this role with humility. I will endeavour to serve staff and students with respect and consultation. I recognize the efforts of all the Registrars who came before me and promise to build on the foundation they laid,” said Prof. Ndiku.

“I urge all staff in this section to accord Prof. Ndiku the maximum support and cooperation as the substantive Registrar (Academic Affairs) of this University. I have no doubt that he will steer this docket as required, since he has served in numerous other sections as a manager,” stated Mr. Obengo. He further assured Prof. Ndiku that his team will help him to protect the integrity of the Office of the Registrar (Academic Affairs).
Speaking during the ceremony, the Director of Quality Assurance-Prof. Danstone Lilechi Barasa reiterated that the University Council’s appointment of a substantive Registrar (Academic Affairs) is a good move for MMUST. “I am happy to witness this transition and eager to work with you for the good of this institution,” he added.

Other MMUST staff present during the handing over ceremony were Rev. Prof. Willis Otuya, Ms. Nancy Okapesi, Mr. Leonard Omollo, Ms. Rita Shitemi. Prof. Ndiku’s substantive appointment as Registrar (Academic Affairs) will certainly invigorate the academic division of the University. We congratulate him on this worthy appointment and wish all the best as he embarks on the noble task of serving the MMUST community.
